How do I share InnOvation® between two or more computers?
Do the following on your primary computer:

  1. Click here to install the current version of InnOvation® on the primary computer. Be sure to check the "Shared Access" option on the installation screen as shown below:

  2. After the installation is complete, use Windows® Explorer to share the folder "C:\Software Maker\InnOvation" as "InnOvation" with full access. Be sure to password protect or set permissions to restrict access to this folder to selected users. See Windows® help for more information about sharing folders.

Do the following on each secondary computer:

  1. Use Windows® Explorer to connect to the InnOvation® share name created on the primary computer (e.g. \\main_computer\InnOvation). Be sure to check the "Remember Password" check box.
  2. Click here to install the current version of InnOvation® on each secondary computer. Be sure to check the "Shared Access" option on the installation screen and to enter the share name created above (e.g. \\main_computer\InnOvation) into the Database field as shown below:

Notes:

  1. The reservation view will be updated automatically within forty seconds when changes are made on another computer. To see the changes immediately, select Refresh from the View menu (F5)
  2. InnOvation® must be running on only one computer to use the Backup, Restore, and Validate commands. The software will prevent you from performing these commands if it is running on more than one computer
  3. All computers must be running the same version of InnOvation®
